What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion, like Acupuncture, has been used in China for over 2000 years. It involves burning Mugwort to warm certain points along the body.

Mugwort is a flowering plant from the Daisy family. It's leaves are ground into small sticks called Moxa which are then lit to warm points on your body to relieve a variety of conditions. It is able to regulate Qi and Blood, dispels cold and warm yang, preventing disease and so maintaining an overall feeling of wellbeing.

Moxibustion is usually good for cases brought on by cold pathogens or certain Yin Yang deficiencies including,

Joint Pain, Indigestion, Gastrointestinal Issues, Menstrual Cramps, Infertility.

It is also commonly used for breech pregnancies.

Using Moxibustion with Acupuncture for certain conditions can increase it's effectiveness as it can travel through the bodies meridians which carry energy throughout the body.

Moxibustion should only be performed by someone who is trained and skilled.
